Teaching Background
I am a graduate of the University of San Diego with a Master's Degree in Education (MEd) Curriculum and Instruction. Prior to attending USD, I attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa and received my Bachelor's Degree in Art History. This is my third year teaching Kindergarten at Oak Hill Elementary School. It is my desire as an educator to help all of my students meet their fullest potential by providing a safe environment that supports risk-taking, and promotes a life-time love of learning. The elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment are to build strong relationships with families, promote respect for all things and all people, and to be a reflective teacher. Personal I have been married for twenty-two years and have two children, and a toy poodle. My husband retired from the Navy in 2015, and we finally returned home to North County San Diego. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, watching my children play sports, traveling, hiking, and making art.
